Welcome New Families
Military Families
North East ISD welcomes military families who have been transferred to a local military installation. Any parent or guardian who is an active-duty member of the armed forces of the United States, or are part of the reserve armed forces, may establish residence and enroll children in North East ISD.
Simply provide a copy of a military order requiring your transfer to a military installation in or adjacent to the district’s attendance zone. The parent or guardian has up to 90 days of the arrival date specified in the order to provide North East ISD with proof of residence.
Thank you for choosing our community. Our aim is to support you and your children, ease into our community and schools. For your convenience, we have collected here resources that you may find valuable.
Student 2 Student at Stone Oak
Student 2 Student (S2S) is a student-led organization dedicated to helping new students feel welcomed, connected, and at home on our campus. Our goal is to create a positive experience while helping students build friendships and a sense of belonging.
Our S2S members are student leaders who take pride in serving others. In addition to welcoming new students, members meet monthly and work together on service projects throughout the year. Some of our campus traditions include supporting our Veterans Day Assembly by creating a special “Hero Wall” and spreading holiday cheer through crafts and caroling at a neighboring nursing home.
How S2S Supports New Students
- School tours
- Lunch buddies
- Recess friends
- New student lunch groups
- Opportunities to join clubs and leadership activities
New students also meet with school counselors to:
- Learn about our campus
- Meet other new students
- Ask questions
- Build friendships and connections
Military & Family Support
Stone Oak proudly supports military-connected students and families. Each April, S2S hosts activities celebrating the Month of the Military Child and recognizing the unique experiences of military families.
When families enroll, they receive campus information and additional support resources as needed, including relocation information, counseling services, and connections to specialized programs. Our Campus-Based Military Liaisons also help ensure a smooth transition and continued support for military-connected students and families.
